Frequently Asked Questions?

How does the commission process work?

Our commission process follows a structured sequence:

  1. You complete the commission form

  2. A non-refundable deposit is paid to begin work

  3. A design preview is created and sent to you

  4. You may request alterations within the review window

  5. Once approved, the remaining balance is paid

  6. Your artwork is produced and delivered as wall art

This process ensures transparency and avoids misunderstandings at each stage.

Why is a deposit required?
The deposit secures your commission and allows work to begin immediately.
All artwork is custom-made to your specifications and cannot be reused, resold, or reassigned. For this reason, deposits are non-refundable once work has started.

Will I receive a preview of my artwork?
Yes. Every commission includes a preview before final production.
You will be given a review window to assess the design and request reasonable alterations before final approval.

How many alterations are included?
Alterations are included to refine the artwork in line with your original brief.
They are intended for adjustments (colour, balance, elements), not a complete change of concept. Significant changes outside the agreed scope may require an additional fee.

What happens if I don’t want to continue after the preview?
If you choose not to proceed after receiving your preview and included alterations, the commission will stop at that stage.
The deposit is retained as payment for creative work already completed.
No further payment will be required.

Can I request specific sizes or formats?
You may indicate your preferred size and format in the commission form.
Final production sizes are optimised by region based on available materials and print partners. In some cases, a requested format may not be available in your location.
If this applies, it will be discussed with you after the preview stage, and the artwork will be adapted to the closest suitable format while preserving its intended impact.

Are all artworks custom-made?
Yes. All commissions are fully bespoke and created specifically for each client.
Once work has begun, standard consumer cancellation rights for mass-produced goods do not apply.

Do you offer refunds?
Refunds are not offered once work has started, as all artwork is custom-made and cannot be reused.
The only exception is where we are unable to fulfil or deliver your order, for example due to delivery restrictions in your country. In such cases, any payments made will be refunded in full.
If a physical item arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us with clear evidence so the issue can be assessed.

What if my artwork arrives damaged?
If your artwork arrives damaged, contact us promptly with photos of the item and packaging.
Where appropriate, a replacement or resolution will be arranged.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, international shipping is available.
Customers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or local charges. Delivery times may vary depending on location.

Can I use my artwork for business or commercial purposes?
Personal commissions are for personal use only.
If you require commercial or business usage rights (including branding, marketing, resale, or monetisation), this must be selected at the time of ordering under the Business Commission option. Business commissions are subject to different pricing and usage terms.

Do I own the artwork?
You own the physical artwork you receive.
Yushu Studio retains the intellectual property rights to the artwork unless otherwise agreed in writing. This allows completed work to be displayed for portfolio and promotional purposes.

How are payments handled?
Payments are issued via secure payment links.
By completing a payment, you confirm acceptance of the commission process and our Terms & Conditions. Disputes raised through payment providers will be assessed strictly in line with these terms.
